Kassel, culture: Museum of Sepulchral Culture

This museum documents the development of graves and tombs in the Western world.
Historical and contemporary methods of monument making, customs relating to
death, and methods of remembering the dead, unique presentations of pictorial
witnesses and objects on the topics of " Dying, death, burial, and remembrance"
from the late Middle Ages to the present. The Central Institute also has a
public archive with expert and historical source literature as well as a
collection of photographs and slides.
